How the score is worked out
Each tile carries its standard English Scrabble value: one point for A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T and R, up to ten for Q and Z. Letter bonuses (DL, TL) multiply that single tile before the word is totalled. Word bonuses (DW, TW) multiply the entire word after every letter has been counted, and two word bonuses in the same play multiply together — a play across two triple word squares scores nine times its letter total.
Blanks and the bingo bonus
A blank tile takes on any letter but always scores zero, even on a double or triple letter square. Enter it as ? in your rack and the calculator assigns it to the first letter it cannot cover with a real tile. If a play uses all seven tiles from your rack you get the 50-point bingo bonus, which is added after multipliers, not before.
Letters already on the board
Words usually extend tiles that are already down. If your word contains letters your rack doesn't have, the calculator still counts their face value but doesn't count them toward the seven tiles needed for a bingo — which matches how the rules treat board letters. Bonus squares only apply to newly placed tiles, so leave board letters set to “—”.
